Decision 1

Separate structure from decoration

A ribbon can be a closure or an accessory; foil, embossing and print alter a surface. Mark the purpose of each feature so the structural sample and decorative sample answer different questions.

Decision 2

Compare the finished assembly

Ask for the decorative operations as separate quotation items. Check alignment, readability and any extra assembly in a physical sample, especially where a ribbon or raised detail meets a fold or opening.
