Decision 1
Match receipt to the approved order
Use the purchase-line references to identify the delivered outer blanks, inserts and printed versions before moving them to the packing area. Record the received quantities and visible condition against the supplied packing list, keeping the packaging version and carton labels in the record.
Decision 2
Hold and resolve discrepancies
If a component, quantity or graphic version does not match, identify the affected stock and record photographs and reference numbers. Keep it separate pending the disposition agreed by the buyer and supplier response. Update the receipt record when the resolution is authorised; do not substitute a similar-looking component without approval.
Turn the method into a sample brief
Bring the result of “match receipt to the approved order” and “hold and resolve discrepancies” to the packaging discussion. Share the real contents, relevant drawings and the decision still to resolve.
